The Bastrop fire raged on today. Then fires began showing up only 4 miles from us in Cedar Creek onHighway 71. Luckily we are up wind. It is incredibly sad to see so many folks burned out, animals displaced or worse and so much land destroyed. Chris and other River Crossing neighbors took in numerous horses from evacuated areas.

These fires in Texas are only going to get far worse until there is lots of Rain. And here is the other problem can Texas get enough resources such as fire fighters and etc to battle these fire.

man thats so crazy. i just got home around 12:00 and i live off of highway 95 just out of elgin going towards bastrop and i could see the orange glow of the fire. any idea how far the fire is from elgin?
