Turns glass into flat panel speakers for up to 40% uplift in sales. If it doesn't have FeONIC on the label it isn't Whispering Window.

Shop window speaker technology invented by FeONIC.

Clip showing Whispering Windows and SoundBug in action. Whispering Windows providing sound from shop window speakers resulting in 40% uplift in sales. Unlike cheaper competitor products noise pollution is taken seriously such that only those within a few metres of the window hear the sound.

  • I contacting Peter Jones directly and spoke with them. The increase was 40 %.

  • @CraigPaardekooper13 thanks Craig for confirmation of the 40% increase. Maybe you could let me know exactly what they said. I could add a quote from them in the annotation.

  • I hear 4%, not 40%. I grew up speaking British English.

  • @MrElvey - It sounds like four but is forty percent. He pronounces something like 'fory'.

The 'T' sound is often dropped or in this case very soft.

Most (all) movies with outside scenes and many inside are completely re-dubbed to tackle such problems (amongst other things). Could do with that approach here.

And again 'stunned by the response' with a video on CNN for four percent? Four percent would be random noise. 40% uplift qualifies as stunning...

  • @srsmtube No, if he'd said forty but it was hard to hear, there would have been a lot more time before we heard "percent". There isn't enough time in the recording for the second syllable in forty before I hear the word percent, IMO. A 4% increase is impressive; a 40% increase is unbelievable. What part of " I grew up speaking British English." did you not understand?

  • @mcldx Scottish! - and the sound is muffled but there is a 't' sound in there. Just barely audible - outside, traffic noise, wind blowing and perhap poor pronunciation. And again would 'Stunned' and 4% go together? email FeONIC and ask for confirmation from Brian (the managing director). He'd be glad to speak to you. And the technology is vastly improved from Soundbug days.

  • @srsmtube are you a British English speaker? There's simply no doubt that he says "4%", the voice is not muffled and there's no suggestion of any extra syllable between "four" and "per". So I wonder if maybe you are a US English speaker which might make it less obvious for you.

I am indeed interested in the work you're doing. I was a little underwhelmed by the original soundbug but it's a nice idea so I'm interested to see what new developments you're working on.

  • @mcldx. Confirmation - Peter Jones definately says 40%. Hence "stunned by the response". Not likely for 4%. Thanks for the interest though as FeONIC focus on sound clarity (Speech Transmission Index). So it is ironic that the most important word in the entire script is muffled.

Judging by your videos (supercollider and the transport usability) I think you may find FeONIC interesting. Why not get in touch. FeONICTechnology on YouTube and FaceBook.

  • @mcldx - thanks for the interest. Just listened to it about 10 times and It sounds like forty to me but yes it is a bit unclear which is why I added that specific annotation. I'm checking with the company directly and will get back to you.

  • He quite clearly says "4%" not "40%". Please fix your description and annotation.
