  • Here in Brazil, the newest fighter was built in 1981 and was buyed used from France.

  • @daltonagre not realy. i am in poaraguay right now and i read in the newspaper that the braqzilian air force want to buy new aircraft for 160 billions (160,000,000,000 US -D)

  • hmm if the Scots became independent i would imagine this would become their main fighter, along with the Tucano.

I cant understand why this has been relegated to training craft.

  • the answer is simple: it just cannot carry a lot of weapons.

    I think just 2 250lb dumb-bombs or 3 sidewinders.

and it doesn't have a gun.

  • whats the song called

  • Stereophonics - Dakota

  • @stubbi If we are talking about the hawk yes it can. It can hold 2 sidewinders and a 30mm ADEN cannon.

Don't think it can carry bombs. At least not the RAF spec's

  • @stubbi To quote Wikipedia "The Hawk is designed to carry a centreline gun pod (normally a 30 mm ADEN cannon)". I have the feeling that I have seen Zimbabwean Hawks with gun pods.

  • hEY WHAT'S THE MUSIC

  • @okaaaiiiden lol not very likely they are sacking 800 pilots as we speak! cuts......and then some more cuts just for good measure

  • @iugey its got explosive charges in it - so if pilot and nav need to evacuate the aircraft in an emergency the canopy will disintegrate - ie to prevent the occupants hitting their heads and breaking their necks when they eject

  • what is that is that design on the canopy? i see it on almost all jet fighters, what is it for?

  • @stubbi I think it have a 1× 30 mm ADEN cannon, in centreline pod

  • The cockpit of these older Hawks are far different to that of the RAAF Hawk 127s
