Netgear has made a great dual-mode cordless phone. It allows you to switch between your Skype and land-lines seamlessly. While not 802.11, it is DECT based and allows you to walk around the house like a regular phone will calling Skype contacts or using your SkypeOut/In. Here is my review

  • Do you need that base station if you already have a wifi router?? DOes the phone also have a speaker?

  • You need the base station no matter if you have a wifi router or not. Also it does have a speaker phone

  • Thanks for your review..

  • You would run it through your router before simply plugging it into your DSL/Cable Modem.

  • This is an Awesome cordless Phone, I have one and love it.Highly recommend it. ;-)

  • just to be sure, i would suggest putting a quote box over your number

    it is stil pretty readable

Skype rocks in terms of telephony!

  • SPH200D=>System is starting up and hang there; Hate this issue. Still unsolved. :(

  • i have it more 1.5 year. it is cool indeed !

  • how is the voice reception and is it worth it? have you had any problems so far?

  • 20F here alone and bored and horny 1

I really hope some hackers get there hands on this too.

  • I've ordered mine off Amazon back on the 17th of September & Im still waiting for it to be dispatched. Its always the way, when I really want something I either cant get it or it turns up really late. :(

I will say the SPH200D wasn't my first choice of stand alone Skype phone, the black Philips one was but they are few and far between now days as Philips has stopped making them.

The Philips one looked more cosmetically pleasing in black but they both share the exact same internal hardware...
