For the first time, the Popes voice in Latin, Italian, Portuguese, French and German was recorded on a music CD, which was presented on November 10th in Rome and will be on sale starting November 29th.The CD, named Alma Mater, is a collection of 8 original soundtracks of modern sacred music, with prayers, litanies and Marian hymns. Part of the albums proceeds will go to the musical education of poor children around the world.Among others, Alma Mater records Benedict XVI reading and singing texts and prayers in St. Peters Basilica, accompanied by the Choir of the Roman Philharmonic Academy.
