  • wow, that flute intro brings back memories.... yikes. Does anyone have an approximate year for this?

  • I would guess early 1970's, as I remember seeing these frequently on TV when I was an adolescent.

  • Did anyone actually ever contact the Canadian Wildlife Service?

  • LOLOLOL!!! I have *no* idea! Maybe I should contact them and ask.... >:^P

  • My first question would be, "How much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?"

  • Perhaps the Canadian Wildlife Service would have an answer to that!

  • Maybe it doesn't even exist. or it was one dude in a shack in the middle of Algonquin park.... :)

  • @Lateboomer059 It has been a year but upon another viewing, I see that the NFB copyright at the end is 1972. Excellent guess, Lateboomer059

  • I have the hinterland who's who information pamphlet for the woodchuck that was made in 1975 and others

  • That flute intro still puts chills down my spine. Kind of like hearing a loon's call echoing across a northern lake...

  • The footage at the end shows MCMLXXII = 1972

  • It was a recording of Pierre Trudeau playing the pan flute as he skipped through the woods!
