The irony is of course, religion is the greatest drug of all.

I believe that we are taught about god(s) in the first 7 years of life is a crucial predictor of whether one will consider reason or faith as the guiding principle.
While the head is soft, so to speak =)

I used to piss my grandma off when I was back home, she was a devout muslim lol I used to piss her off with my twisted atheistic questions lol I loved her, but sometimes I just couldn't help challenging her old religious views, it was so much fun, not to say she was always pretty disappointed at me becuz of my views lol

With today's technology these women are more and more exposed to the west, seeing the freedoms and equality that women get outside of their community. Eventually they will become jealous and the way from that to unhappiness is a fairly short one.

These are really impressive parents you got there, OP :)

How did these 2 people get married? I can't imagine being married to someone who completly think differenly from me. It seems like there would be a lot of arguments.

Wow FVR, you are very lucky to have such thoughtful parents. Haha, I'm basically the polar opposite of my parents, but everytime I express my views, I'm accused of being a smart-aleck.

Thanks for posting these, I found them really interesting. It's great that your family can have such open conversations about this, and while I don't agree with your mothers perspective, she's clearly far more thoughtful about the issue than most christians I've spoken to.

i'm glad you found it interesting. I was hoping it would be interesting. it's not very often people get to see what a another family's debating is like.
