I have been doing calisthenics for a week or two now and all I can say is...THANK YOU GUYS for inspiring me! I couldn't do a single pull up and now I'm doing sets of like 3-4 with all sorts of grips.I'm looking to improve in the next few months..cause at the end of the summer I want to say "I wasn't wasting my time" .

@6academic6 Well im glad i could have been apart of your strength gains. Never say that you were wasting your time, even a little bit of exercise goes a long way, so for you to switch up and do calisthenics, you'll definitely see gains within a month.

I agree with DOC. The "shorties" can be a good work out, especially for beginners. I do shorties, as a warm up, then move on to slower more controlled moves.

I also agree with Doc on that matter. "Shorties" are cool to do if you know & understand that & why your doing them. In your training sessions, you can do them all you want unless otherwise specified, but when it comes to a challenge, competition, etc., when your judged on your reps, then absolutely not.

All these guys, especially B-Rock are huge. Do you guys do this by just body weight workouts or do you guys mix in free weights as well?

The majority of it is bodyweight exercises, but some of them do go to the gym.
