So nice, they released it twice.

After topping the charts in the early sixties, "Any Other Way" was re-released less than five years later and once again earned a ten ten spot on the CHUM Top Fifty.

The incredible appeal of this record spawned a live album, recorded at Toronto's Sapphire Tavern over a one-week period.

I remember seeing Jackie Shane perform at the Mimicombo roller rink in the 60's and he was amazing in a purple cape and all done up.....a great performer. I had the pleasure of shaking his hand at the end of the performance.....he had silky soft hands and wonderful long nails.....where is he? What happened to this lovely performer.....does anyone know?

@loumannati Jackie is alive and well and living in the Nashville TN area. There is a growing movement trying to convince Jackie to come out of retirement and perform at least once at some future date in Toronto.

Jackie does not embrace the internet but a person has been forwarding him all the comments and good wishes of fans who have posted comments here, so keep 'em coming and maybe, just maybe . . .

Jackie could read the phone book while a child with downs syndrome bangs on some pots and pans for rythm and I would still buy the 10 disc compilation. Please please please, if you've got to be a recluse, and won't perform publicly, at least hang out with some of your favorite musicians with the red light on, record some of your favorite tunes, have some laughs, don't give a damn what people will think, and let the rest take care of itself. I grew up in Etobicoke....I am the one who saw Jackie at the Mimicombo and shook his hand....when Jackie wants to do a performance in Toronto, you can be sure I can pack the house....I am still in touch with the Etobicoke/Mimico crowd and we would all be in Toronto to welcome him and see his great come-back performance.
