In this "making of" the AMERICAN PRINTER TV filming of an interview with Patrick Marchese, Co-founder and CEO of Markzware and a subsequent demonstration of some new, exciting search technology from this well know preflight (FlightCheck) and conversion (Quark to InDesign) software developer.

Patrick tells us what PageZephyr, the name of this new technology is and briefly what it does. Doug Rosen shows how it works and I stuck in the middle there a small SnapzPro captured demo of some of the key functions of PageZepher. In a nut-shell, it is:

Index, Search, View, Extract and Distribute
QuarkXPress and Adobe InDesign Content -
Currently, PageZepher Desktop searches and indexes the desktop for files types previously destined for print, such as: .indd (Adobe InDesign), and .qxd (QuarkXPress) files. QXD is supported back to v6, and INDD back to CS. PageZepher also extends indexing to attached volumes. Future plans include compatibility with .pub (Microsoft Publisher) and other print-related file types and older version.

We saw a lot interest from publishers, both magazine and newspaper publishers as well as corporations creating manuals or organizations with a lot of content, such as governments and the likes. We even had a priest show great interest in PageZephyr to help with a new Bible study book he was writing and layingout!
