I disagree. Despite her success as an author, she failed to set money aside for medical emergencies, failed to properly arrange her retirement, taking into consideration the predictable decline in health that comes w/old age.
It has nothing to do w/the futility of fighting the system. It has to do w/being exactly the kind of person she detested - too irresponsible to manage their own affairs. No one forced her onto gov't welfare. In her own words: watch?v=7vJoaWa-kWQ
She is Philosophical Fail.

@FacnyCatFighter She was right.. and she knew she couldn't win.
-
@Avidcomp Ayn Rand argued that accepting any form of Governmental assistance is paramount to "delivering oneself into gradual enslavement".
By searching for a loophole in her own ideals, she ultimately sullied them.

@fenderkid6 I would to..on this basis: Due to government intervention through regulation and currency devaluation to name two.. my money is being stolen, so the small token welfare payment is just taking a fractio nof my money back. I would rather have no benefit so long as there was no interventionist policies stealing my wealth. So no, Rand was not wrong, she was taking back what was already hers. Read about the Miligram experiment.

@Avidcomp It seems Rand thought her own theories were wrong, because she happily took government welfare towards the end of her life.

LMFAO

Every time the left attack Ayn Rand the "jokes" or digs reveal how they think they underdstand objectivism....but don't. It's the equivalent of talking about current affairs when you've only read the headlines

Argh! The prose! The terrible, terrible prose!

FUCKED UP!
The Simpsons used to be funny, but it took a hard left turn recently.
