I strongly recommend her Puritani with Nicolai Gedda from 1963 in Philadelphia. Could be her best Elvira ever!

oh darling. no disrespect to Dame Sutherland, but.....Callas in 1951 Mexico City Aida...yes. did make the audience not able to control themselves......on a whole new level. :]

@chocolatesouljah Netrebko needs better technique (and the taste to ditch more of the high notes) before her performance becomes comparable.
This is astonishing: one month before her 50th birthday and Sutherland's still singing the most difficult music as though it's as easy as an art song. Amazing.

Forget the sound thru the little mike,glorious as it is...Best judgement of the impact,the energy in the theatre....everyone claps well before she's even done!COuldn't control themselves...Who has ever done that consistently???No one "freaked out" an audience,in a good way,like dear Joan...
