  • If you set the exposure mode to 'S' (shutter priority mode) then you can set a shutter speed to as slow as 30 seconds, in this mode the camera will select an appropriate aperture. If you need a slower shutter speed then you need to go to 'M' (manual mode) and select 'bulb' in bulb the shutter release is held down for as long as you need the shutter to be open. It is advisable to use a remote release when using bulb.

  • I am an absolute beginner when it comes to photography. My husband bought me a Nikon d5000 to take photos of our new Grandson and I am overwhelmed by the options on the camera. What does ISO sensitivy mean and why is the shutter speed important? Also, my screen will only stay on for about 5 seconds is there a way to change that and keep it on longer?

  • thank you so much this helps alot

  • Good Video.

    Thanx.
