I got the tech, the ideas, the talent/creativity, but I don't know when to start... I know a little programming,(laugh, html). I already created one model, but I still can't get it going. Sometimes it makes me feel like someone is saying to me "it's too much", but I still want to do it.

@OmegaF77 7 months after did you managed something? I plan to work in this industry and im curious how it went for you. Thanks for the answer mate

@OmegaF77 Try focusing on one like, environment art, character art, animation, concept art, programming, game design or level design (there are a few others). Which one do you like best? Maybe thats the one for you and this gives you the option to focus and become very good at the particular specialisation. Being great at a particular area is much more valuable to an employer than being what many people call a "3D Generalist".

@OmegaF77 LOL say "i got the ideas and creativity" when ur actually applying to a video game company, not on youtube :P

@tripleG226 --- Theres no "best way" to become a game designer; it all depends on what kinds of things you like to do, and can do well. The industry is always changing, but there is always room for talented, passionate people who want to entertain others.

What's the difference between a game designer and a game developer please?
khmman95 1 year ago
@khmman95 --- Anyone who works on a game is a Developer, but a game's Designer is usually the person responsible for leading the team; ...the one who brings it all together and keeps everyone on track and focused on the same creative vision. He's like the Director on a Movie set.
