  • wene im older i want to be a video game designer but i dont know how to get started could u possibly help me out?

  • @tripleG226 --- Theres no "best way" to become a game designer; it all depends on what kinds of things you like to do, and can do well. The industry is always changing, but there is always room for talented, passionate people who want to entertain others.

Take look at some of the other Game Related Videos on the Game Refuge Channel, or visit the gamerefuge web site for more insights.

  • What's the difference between a game designer and a game developer please?

  • @khmman95 --- Anyone who works on a game is a Developer, but a game's Designer is usually the person responsible for leading the team; ...the one who brings it all together and keeps everyone on track and focused on the same creative vision. He's like the Director on a Movie set.

  • I got the tech, the ideas, the talent/creativity, but I don't know when to start... I know a little programming,(laugh, html). I already created one model, but I still can't get it going. Sometimes it makes me feel like someone is saying to me "it's too much", but I still want to do it.

  • @tripleG226 there is one place called Jack'Of"All games

  • @OmegaF77 7 months after did you managed something? I plan to work in this industry and im curious how it went for you. Thanks for the answer mate

  • @OmegaF77 Try focusing on one like, environment art, character art, animation, concept art, programming, game design or level design (there are a few others). Which one do you like best? Maybe thats the one for you and this gives you the option to focus and become very good at the particular specialisation. Being great at a particular area is much more valuable to an employer than being what many people call a "3D Generalist".

  • @OmegaF77 LOL say "i got the ideas and creativity" when ur actually applying to a video game company, not on youtube :P

  • Giant CRT screen, oh god.

  • @tripleG226 also, a ton of community colleges offer courses on game development, i have a 2 year degree in it, and im now getting a degree in animation, because i want to make animations.

  • hey im starting to think about options and qualifications i ned can i maybe get a reply telling me what qualifications i need for game designer , Thanks, Lewis

  • mmm, wouldn't mind working in CIV VI

  • @Supernatura4Life lol man i turned more towards my art side because there's no game design around where i live. im president of my school's art club now.

  • @tahthedon Go for it man, it won't hurt to try, and I see a year has passed since you commented, so what happened?
