Mehboob Nadeem is the 15th Generation desendant -- continuing the tradition of the Agra Gharana.
He was born into a highly illustrious family of traditional musicians of the Agra Gharana. He is the grandson of the legendary Ustad Vilayat Hussain Khan (Pranpiya) and Gayan Samrat Ustad Azmat Hussain Khan(Dilrang)

Mehboob was initiated in the art of music at a very young age by his father Ustad Yakub HussainKhan,Uncle Ustad Aslam Khan and uncle Shri Rafat Khan - in addition under the able guidance of the world renowned sitar maestro Pandit Arvind Parikh senior most disciple of Ustad Vilayat Khan and grew upinto an artist of rare calibre and much promise.

He is one of the finest sitar players in the World playing Vilayat Khani style.
His performances are truly unique and inspiring, and have enthralled audiences in India and abroad. He is a regular performer of All India Radio, where he gives solo performances.He has performed in Queen Elizabeth hall,Purcell room,V&A Museum,in London,Horniman museum,Wintson churhhill hall,Philahormonic hall,Peepuls Hall just name few.

He has performed all over India,Europe, Africa and USA.
He is based in London ( UK ) giving performances,workshops in Schools,Colleges,Universities and music organisations all over UK,Europe and USA.
He has done workshops in Trinity college,Leeds music college,Imcdoll in Edinburgh,Saaa in Glasgow.Saauk in Leeds ,Huddersfeild university to name a few.
He also teaches Sitar and North Indian Vocals in uk.

  • This is truly excellent stuff. Very surel, authentic raagdari, solid taiyari. If I may say so, I found the Jod slightly sketchy - the laya was increased too abruptly, not developed adequately.

    The alaap was sheer bliss!!
