wow I can not beleive that I have a better time understanding how to find the equation of a parallel line and perpindicular line here then from my math teacher who constantly scolds me for asking a question the next day because I did not understand the first time around.

I am a little confused, can you please explain a little more. When adding the 9 to both sides, how is 9 the same as 27/3?

@NYC2261 The integer 9 is the same as the fraction 9/1. If you multiply the numerator and denominator by 3, you'll get 27/3:
9 = 9/1 = 9x3 / 1x3 = 27/3

@MissKayleeHayden 6/3 means 6 divided by 3, which is 2. 27 divided by 3 equals 9.
