In the original script, Winston was in the movie from the beginning. The character was intended to be played by Eddie Murphy. I guess after he turned it down the studio decided to cut his part in half. I don't know why. It still would've worked.

Screw the movie poster. It was an affront to leave him out. Ernie Hudson was in the 1984 Ghostbusters music video at least.
