@GorcPicX No shit. There are a ton of items that are necessary for special parts of the game. In KQ VI, there was really only the hole-in-the-wall, the tinder box, and the mechanical nightengale. This game, there's quite a few more!

This is one of the few games where you need to make multiple save files. One wrong choice will screw you up bad.

It was so irritating to me when I couldn't find the moldy cheese for a while... you'd try to put something in the machine other than the cheese and the narrator would say:
*chooses fishing hook*
"Graham hesitates; this could be the wrong thing to do!"
*chooses ... Amulet?*
"Graham hesitates; this could be the wrong thing to do!"
*......... cheese?*
