3 year olds are equally unpredictable!!! Notice how 'Scarlette' swatted at the snake? If she made contact with a corn or a ball python, it would likely make a run for it. But green tree pythons (or emerald boas) often bite for defence. Anyone watching this video should see this as an example of how not to parent and how not to dangle snakes recklessly. Don't damage the reputation of the REST of us. Please be responsible folks.
This should not be encouraged. Some snakes are very tame by nature, for examples, corns, ball pythons, womb pythons, etc. Green Tree Pythons are sometimes tame and sometimes insanely aggressive. Unlike, corns etc, when GTP's ARE aggressive, they have a mouthful of teeth to tear a kid's face to stitches. This video is an example of risky parenting and questionable pet husbandry. Maybe this particular snake is tame, but it gives newbies the false sense that this is safe.
Nothing wrong with kids learning to handle snakes. Start training them when they're young, and they become great handlers. My 3yr old boy is always with me in my animal room. He can identify more snakes than some keepers I know, and his handling skills gets better each time he handles them.
Anyone that dosnt "approve" of this should relieze how tame and docile pythons are. Go do your research before you hate on something you have no knowledge in. The snake seems to repsond well to the little girl as she responds the same way back, you brainless twats leanr animal behavior!
Its nice and all to have children develop familiarity with snakes and such- but when she waved her hand I cringed so hard, could totally see that prompting it to strike.
you brainless twat. just because it doesnt look like its aggressive doesnt mean its not. do not talk about things you dont know!! i AM an experienced snake handler just as the previous bloke you was slagging off that has over 20 years of experience. and i WILL poke my nose in when i see a child in danger. that is no small risk! please, please google it and find out for youself. in the mean time, get off your high horse and listen to the experts!
@silverphoenix79 very aggressive? hardly. a LITTLE maybe. the child ISN'T handling this snake. all the child is doing is sitting still while the FATHER handles the snake. your obviously an over pompous ass who thumbs his nose at people and tells everyone how they are all sooooo stupid. go get a life. everything in life carries some small risk. im not going to tell my child to not cross the street because there are drunk drivers in the world.
@gibblets17 you obviously know nothing about snake keeping so if i was you i would keep your opinions to yourself. schools and shows indeed do let kids touch and hold snakes. but not this snake in particular. they are a snake that should only be handled when necessary and by an experienced snake keeper as can be very aggressive. and if anyone else thinks its fine for this child to be handling this snake, your either very thick or just arrogant. look up the info before u comment!!!
@SuperUromastyx you do know there are shows that go around with 6 foot snakes and go to schools and have kids touch and hold them right? the likelihoods of it actually striking her eye is pretty low. and if he has worked with the snake the likelihoods of the snake striking at all is even lower. if he wants to get his children used to snakes at a young age that's his decision. NOT YOURS. don't talk from your high horse as if you are the snake MAN.
