He was well on his way to becoming an attorney. But I believe he had alot of conflict between his intellect vs insanity. Thus, he decided to embody the latter to achieve his goal. I do not believe this was 'fate' I believe this was, and is, a well thought-out plan to achieve many successes in one life-time. He is smooth and hypnotic, like a mind-altering drug. He can get alot of people to believe anything he says, or sings. He is an intellectual wizard of communication. I, for one, am entranced!

The reason he has the coat on here is because I believe this was right about the point his appearance evolved from the 'grubby' orange jumpsuited prison escapee look, to the more 'suave', sophisticated, soul of the night, vampire look. I have increasingly suspected it was all part of his plan from the get-go, and he may have already thought out his whole future! He proves over and over in his songs that he is an expert manipulator! This man is 'the' puppet-Master! He has 3 degrees from college!
