Quick look at the new KAC BUIS on my AR-15.
*UPDATE* I've had these for about 8 months now and I absolutely love them! Amazing quality! I was able to make adjustments on the rear for a 18" plate at 465yards (425m), I was using two clicks past 400m on the rear sight and hit 8 out of 10 shots. I then went on to hit 11 out of 13. I've been very impressed with these sights and I don't know if I'll be able to buy another rear sight that doesn't have adjustment for elevation.

  • They are very low profile... some of the lowest I've seen. Maybe close second is PRI. When folded down, how tall are they at the highest point?

  • @shaokem I'll have to measure them. I'll try to do that within the next week as another user wanted some video of the sight picture.

  • @Highjak86 Cool! appreciate that!

  • @shaokem I've been slacking on the sight picture video of these BUIS and I apologize. I'm going to do a full review within the next 2 weeks and I'll have some video of sight picture on that vid.

  • So to sight these in on a 100 yard range it would be on lowest setting 1 or 2 ? Could you zero at 100 yards? Thanks

  • @justice2576 There is a Z mark for zeroing the rifle. Zeroing is done at 25yards. You can really zero however you want, but this is how the sight is meant to be used.

  • If you have time could you post a video showing your gun with optic and these sights. Would be great!

  • Ok starting to understand this more, cowitness is just how much of the iron sight is visible in the optic. The dot will always be sitting on top of the front sight. Is there a benefit to seeing more of the front sight?

  • @justice2576 With 50/50 you will see 50% of your front sight post. With 1/3 cowitness your optic will be sitting a little higher and you will only see 1/3 of your front sight post. It's all personal pref. I prefer 1/3.

  • So with the 50/50 would the red dot be below the irons? Trying to understand cowitness
