THEY'RE HERE! Manufactured by Siemens AG, these will be serving the Newtown Road-EVMS line.

Filmed behind the football stadium at NSU.

UPDATE: Trains will not run on this line until 2011. HRT got short on money, so the debut of The Tide will be pushed back for one year.

  • Is this the one that is going to run on the Virginia Beach line?

  • @ekoslosky Eventually, yes. They were supposed to start this year, but I think in 2011 they'll start. They had to postpone due to a shortage of money.

  • They are beautiful units !!

  • They really are. I just wish that they would hurry the heck up and get them running!

  • this would be cool if ran to oceanfront in Va beach

  • I think it will happen in the future. I'd like it if they did that.

  • You should check out our ride on the tide. It was so much fun!!

  • I think a future extension should go to the Norfolk Naval Base first...just my opinion.

  • @southdekalbmall What would have been *REALLY* cool is if the stupid politicians had the forethought to LEAVE THE OLD TROLLEYS that were in the area long ago!!! Then, maybe there would already be a damned train to VaBeach! Oh, BTW, VaBeach saw this boondoggle coming and pulled the parachute. That's why it stops at the Norfolk/VB line.

  • @VArailfan89 Shortage of money? That's what you call it when you go hundreds of MILLIONS over budget on a fricking 7.4 mile train line? Be glad you don't live anywhere near the effing trains. That whistle and that bell SUCK ASS to hear from 6AM until Midnight. Every 5 minutes this P.O.S. rides near enough to my house to hear it. I even started hearing the bell when it wasn't dinging! And all this while the trains have ZERO passengers!!!! (running it for months empty)

  • This light rail STILL isn't open. I understand the pain of anticipating a rail line for years with delay after delay. The Los Angeles Metro Expo Line is by far the worst example.

  • horn sounds like a nathan m5 a old five air horn chime a very unieqk sound oe the amtrak k5 horn imatated replica sound
