Barry's Tea With Greg Wilson

The indigenous tea brand has teamed up with Irish musical collective Bodytonic to give music fans the opportunity to have an intimate 'Tea With' Greg Wilson, a true pioneer of electronic music. Wilson helped popularise the now industry standard art of mixing and will share some of the Golden Moments from his career, including being the first DJ to mix two records live on TV during an episode of 'The Tube' with a bemused Jools Holland.

The Barry's 'Tea With...' cultural series focuses on music, fashion and art with innovators and trend leaders showcasing their work in a relaxed, conversational way. Barry's Tea has already worked with Circus Store and Gallery to bring Reality Studio's Svenja Specht and Koi Klub founder Yoske Nishiumi to Dublin, and Monster Truck Gallery to bring celebrated Guardian newspaper illustrator Graham Rawle to the RHA.

A true innovator in the electronic music scene, Wilson broke ground for the music industry in 1981 when he mixed two records live on TV, a technique which only became standard a decade later. As well as being the first UK DJ to mix with three turntables, he also put together some of the early radio mixes on 'reel to reel', perfecting his editing skills in the process. Greg has been a resident in some of the great dance clubs of the early 80s including the infamous Manchester Hacienda and his main club in the city, Legend. Greg took a 20 year career break before a terrific return to form from the end of 2003.
