@chinaman3000 Kick the ol' heavy bag for a while. But believe me, a good check or leg kick still hurts like hell.

nice fight dude, been doing muay thai for awhile, and my shins are always bruising bad, do u hav any advice besides shin pads (i dont want to protect them i want to make them tough)

Thai fighters toughen their shins by hitting heavy bag 500 times a day, using bike innerubes filled with sand and beating their legs (deadens nerve endings),roll a piece of wood up and down leg, and ancient tradition, kick banana trees

@NakMuayThai so basically when you fracture your shin bone the micro remodeling body process doesnt make your shin harder than what it was before? we just kill our nerves

@tinygangster66: Yes, you are right. A broken bone, (in many cases, not all depending on severity and location of break) will heal and become slightly stronger than before. Dead nerves don't relay pain to the brain, thus Thai fighters are used to taking the kicks and usually have a calcium build-up over time.
