It's my Daphnia Tank. I keep them for fun and for feeding fish.

Look at my other pets here: http://www.shrimp-tank.com

  • dude you should try looking at them under microscope That Is Cool!!!!!

  • @jack342able Yes, I will. I just recently got an old-fashion microscope. It should be cool!

  • It looks like there are more at one end of the tank than the other, which Ive noticed in my tank as well, especially with the babies.Do u know if they pick a favourite area for the smaller ones to live in?

Also, how do u change any of the water without killing a load of them?Ive tried syphoning some water out with a bottle, but when I look at the water before I get rid of it its always full of loads of them (Then I feel bad and put them back lol.So far I've just topped up the tank with clean water)

  • @Kez1983 They follow a light. They will float in more illuminated area of a tank. They also like to float in area with more food (dust) in the water.

I syphon water from inside a fine net. So, daphnia can't get into that place I suck water out from. It's easy to do.

  • Thank you!

  • Would these be good for an all plant aquarium? Why do you change the water so often?

  • @Irineosgirl123 I don't think that will are good for planted tank. They need a 'green water' to eat. It's algae and it makes tank cloudy. It will not be nice. They will not live long in a clear tank.

There is no filter there, so I just change water :)

  • What kind of air pump are you using in the tank. The bubbles are coming out very slowly.

    Please reply.

  • that is pretty awesome.. id still like to put my crayfish babies in that litlle tank

  • What song is that? Also, beautiful video. I just got a sack of Daphnia for my community tank (never heard of them before today) and the fish seem to absolutely love them. I would consider having a tank devoted to growing them as feedstock.

  • I really like the look of your tank. I'm going to breed them too! :) What did you put there? What type of rocks and is it algae or some sort of moss?

  • <3 daphnia

  • could these be cool little pets

  • Is the rock decor or a form of "live" rock?

  • It's really wonderfull! I wonder how many Daphnia live in there?

    P.s : I love the music... Classsssssicsss....
