  • Paintball is designed to be cleanable anyway. Just saying, it's not proving a whole lot.

  • @js2579 I don't deny testing the pen would be a better "stamina" test... but even though my scenario is unlikely, it COULD happen! Anything's possible! :)

  • @LynxProd LOL, the board falls of the wall while someone is painting and then someone spills a bucket of paint? Who is painting? Larry, Moe and Curly? A more practical test would be to step on the pen or roll over it with a chair. I wonder why they did not show that. It is infinitely more realistic to happen in a classroom than your example.

  • @js2579 There's a practical, real-life scenario 4 this video. A smart board could be installed incorrectly on a wall n while some1 repainting the room is painting around it, it falls off the wall n onto the floor which startles the painter who knocks over their paint bucket onto the board spilling paint on it. The board isn't broken from the fall n the paint is easy 2 clean off :)

What if the video showed some1 driving over an "indestructable keyboard"? Wuld u say we'd need 2 worry bout drivers?

  • @LynxProd The better test and more practical one would be to see if the proprietary pen still works if it is rolled over on by a wheel of a chair. You cannot use the interactive piece of the board without the pen and it costs $150 to replace. That is a far more likely scenario than the previous one.

  • @LynxProd No, I get the point. The car's durability is tested in crash situations because those are real life situations with the car. Car crashes do happen, so they need to be extra durable. Whiteboards sit on the wall and are never shot with any sort of gun. Sure, its cool that it can withstand a paintball gun, it would also be cool if it could double as a life-raft, its just not practical given what it's use is and the environment it is in.

  • @js2579 So would you buy a car if no one tested the car's durability? The video is just a demonstration, it's not a real-life scenario! I don't think you're understanding that point.

  • @LynxProd No one crashes their car intentionally, but it happens. Firing paintball guns at whiteboards in a classroom never happens. And if it does, you should be spending your money on something else, not whiteboards.

  • Very impressive! Not only referring to the durability of the smart board, but also how neat and legible that guy's handwriting was! lol

  • @js2579 it shows it can withstand the impact of a paintball being fired from a gun without breaking and it can be cleaned of even paint and permanent marker... I'd like to see someone try that with a normal whiteboard and get the same results. Most of users will probably not do this to their smartboards... as most drivers will probably not intentionally crash their cars... it's just a demonstration to show how durable it is :)
