In 2005, the Airline Mechanics Fraternal Association (AMFA) went on strike against attempts by NWA to cut jobs by over half, wages by over a quarter, and slash benefits. These are some news clips from local stations regarding the strike. See also http://www.iww.org/en/node/2618
Another crazy thing is us scabs became amfa union members non paying of course shortly before the union was booted. So we went from scabs to members that's how stupid the union was.

Scab worker here. You amfa workers should have taken the 26 an hour that they offered you. And got rid of the hundreds of aircraft cleaners makeing $20 Plus per hour. That is not a $20 plus and hour job. That is a $9-13 per hour job. And a 4 years later you would have been back up to $34 per hour. Yeah its not $37 but still got flight benifits and insurance. 6 years later us scabs are still working. And that flat tire on the bus got you nothing. I'm sorry the union screwed you not us.

Union thugs. Shortly after their stunt NWA outsourced its maintenance operations, and now the union at Delta has been decertified. Im glad Delta got rid of the unions.

The Honoralble will survive. We have gone on to better things; most of us are making MUCH more money with better benefits. We were only making 35 dollars an hour---who wouldn't strike for such a measy sum?

Ah, those bygone days of AMFA dudes beating their chests like gorillas. Little did they know that three years later AMFA would be entertaining the idea of representing the Scabs. AMFA Director Steve McFarlane had a letter about it leaked shortly before AMFA decertified and Delta took over NWA. I have mixed feelings about unions, but AMFA was a joke and a disgrace. Their members ranted and raved while their leaders would do anything to maintain petty power. I'm glad AMFA is about sunk.

SCABS! Too bad there is no unity with the aircraft mechanics. If we (aircraft mechanics) would of stood behind AMFA, we would of showed theses greedy corporations we mean business.
