(Grabbed from a WJRT news item) 22-year old Saginaw Valley State University student Charles Littleton was tasered and dragged out on Nov 6, 2006 when he attended a Saginaw city council meeting wearing a baseball cap, and refused to take it off, defying a local rule. Note: image quality is decidedly lousy but at least you get the gist.

SVSU report: Littleton comments on criminal charges brought against him (not related to his refusal to take off his cap, but the ensuing scuffle):

SVSU report, 4 months later: Littleton pled out and received a 6 mo. probation order:

  • @mamacornettesmoney oh ok. i see what happend here. that was my roomate that left that comment then, who is black. i am not gonna comment on any of this lol

  • @jonashinterberger he's basically right. the guy was being kicked out for yelling at the council about the hat rule & demanding an answer before they could start the meeting. When cops tried to remove him he fought. He broke the chief's finger with a kick. That's why he was tased. The hat simply merited a "hey, take your hat off" (after they announced it to the whole room & he was the only one who didn't). That pissed him off & he pitched a titty fit. The tit fit got him in trouble.

  • @RapAndChopin how is this an argument?

  • @mamacornettesmoney i cant find my comment that you are replying to, what did i say? ill debate with you cause you sound like you know what you're talking about, i just need to know what i said.

  • @ggmann13 How do you know? All the white guys in the room took the hats off instead of screaming at the council and kicking cops, so we don't know how they'd have been treated if they acted that way. I know this: I worked in a public place like this with rules and we made all the white folks follow the same rules as the black folks, but almost every time you had to ask a black person to adhere to a rule, we heard the same bullshit you spewed in your post.

  • @PRESTOSAURUSREX No one lost sleep. They simply told him to take it off and he pitched a big fit so he was dealt with.

  • Reported your heading as a misleading lie! He was NOT "tasered for wearing a cap". He refused to remove it or to leave, then fought police and broke the Chief's hand with a kick. Facing 6 years in prison, he APPLOGIZED: "I'm pretty infamous around here by now. I never intended to make light of or disrespect a City Council meeting. I should have taken off my hat." Sentenced to 6mo probation, 200hrs of CommSvc and $140 fine. Prancing, punky Jonesing A-hole in the video wasn't so big in court.
