Tom Hardy is the new max. It's all on how they direct this film. It could be really fuckin good. Yes, Gibson is O.G, but this can be done. Always up for a good post apoc movie.

I just don't see this without mel max gibson and the continued story line. someone mentioned batman before. the new batman works cuz all the first batman movies sucked balls and followed the tv show theme and not the real story of batman like the new ones did.
Mel Gibson is Max until the story ends, then you can cast others to play the part. without him this will be just another cheap action money grab!!

@bigmaxy07 I never saw Batman Begins because I thought the 1989 one was the best. I was wrong. Maybe lightning can strike twice and a new Mad Max can kick ass. If Mel Gibson is looking for a way to jump start his career.......

I see it in my sidebar here, but the tow-truck chase scene in Terminator: Salvation looked like an audition for the new Max. That guy is Australian too.

The directers are loopy if they think they can do movie without Mel gibson. Will be second rate movie and they are pissing off many madmax fans by not using Mel as madmax

I don't know...I think Charlton Heston and Will Smith did a better "Last Man on Earth" than stiff and dull "legend" Vincent Price. Clooney and Co did a lot better than the "legendary" Rat Pack with Ocean's 11. And the Duke was put in his place in the remake of "True Grit." So it can happen. And Miller is a great director. Sorry, but I don't think I'll be a moaning, whiny little pessimist like some of you people until I see the finished product.

Mad Max 1 & 2 are in my top 10 films ever, next to the original Star Wars. I fear that it will be a Mad Phanton Max Menace. Thay should make a new Wasteland film, then if it's crap, it won't spoil Mad Max.
ps, I have just remembered, a film called something,Thunder Dome, so it does't matter what happens.
