Although Debbie Reynolds sings this perfectly, and it is my favorite version of "Tammy," I also really like the Lennon Sisters version. This is probably one of the greatest love songs I've ever heard. By the way, it is as old as I am.

Reminds me of the scene when Judy Garland in Meet Me In St.Louis when she sing The Boy Next Door right...... and has anybody else noticed a resemblance between Debbie Reynolds and pop star Katy Perry.

I too was named Tammie after this movie and this song! I even walked down the isle at my wedding to the instrumental of this song! It has so much meaning to me! I have sung it to all three of my children changing "does my lover feel what I feel" to "does my baby feel what I feel" so that it becomes a lullaby! It was/is a favorite for all three of my children!

On September 21, 1957, this was the #1 song in the USA. It is also the day that a beloved third cousin came into the world. Sadly, she left this world two days ago (12-22-2011). We will miss you, Fran.
