@deluxieeee Hi, no, tell us about the date the USSR began
-
@eromadrol You are correct if you use Western Christianity's festive day, but not correct if you use the Orthodox date in January. Still, an interesting comparison. Do you know on what date the USSR began? That might entail an interesting coincidence, no? Leonard

im crying right now and i am not ashamed

Is Irina Arkhipova the "lead" singer of this piece? My brother in law gave me some Eastern Orthodox cd's and this song reminds me of one of them. The song is "Cantique de Simeon" from the album "Musique Orthodoxe Russe".

In the name of son JESUS CHRIST, AMEN and AMEN.

@MsKecee You have blessed this song by listening to it and enjoying it so. God loves you. In the Orthodox faith, we believe that we were born to live in communion with God and a contrite and sorrowful heart is our sacrifice to him.

Atheist USSR officially ended on Christmas Day (Dec 25th, 1991...) ;-))
Irina Arkhipova. Mezzo Soprano. She is fantastic. This song is all I want when I'm heartbroken and down. It calms and restores me.

Even after listening to this piece at least thirty times, I can't handle how gorgeous it is. I'm usually not even the biggest fan of many alto soloists.. but this recording is beautiful.
