On May 7th, Lyme patients and constituents of Congressman Frank Pallone (D-NJ) protest outside of his offices in Long Branch. They want Pallone to schedule the Lyme Disease Research Bill, HR 741.

So far, Pallone is stalling and refusing to schedule the Bill, capitulating to lobbyists and monied interest. Meanwhile Lyme is becoming an unchecked epidemic causing thousands to become chronically ill everyday.

Call Frank at 202 225-4671 and tell him to schedule HR 741. Lyme patients can't wait

  • Seriously, enough is enough. Representative government means that the people's wishes are represented by their elected officials, NOT the interests of giant medical societies with millions of dollars to hire lobbyists. Thousands and thousands of people have called you and asked for your help. What more do you need before you'll schedule this bill? Do we really have to park a truck full of money on your lawn before you'll listen?

  • And then you have to remember, the IDSA, the people opposing this bill, have already been busted by the Attorney General of Connecticut for serious malfeasance and conflicts of interest around Lyme treatment. Doesn't that tell you something, Congressman? These guys are corrupt and don't want this bill to see the light because they don't want the truth about how badly they've mishandled this disease to come out. Please, Rep. Pallone, side with the people, not the money, on this issue.

  • I understand that he's getting pressure from "the other side" to squash this bill. But wouldn't an intelligent person have to ask themselves what possible motivation would a medical society have to OPPOSE a bill for more medical research? What possible reason would they have to oppose this unless they were hiding something? Honestly, Mr. Pallone, what legitimate reason could they have? None. They are clearly hiding somehting.

  • GREAT film!! We appreciate your work! The mainstream media prints nothing but lies about Lyme-- and Blumenthal has already proven that the current IDSA guidelines were prepared under a dark cloud of conflict of interest with collusion among "inbred" committee members with questionable financial connections. Our govt spends $22 BILLION on developing biowarfare agents at Plum Island that are similar to Lyme, and yet Pallone cant find time to schedule a puny bill for treatment research? SHAME.

  • Very compelling and well done. Lyme Disease is no joke and people are contracting it with increasing numbers every year. These people are truly ill and the U.S. healthcare system is not helping those who need it the most. Let's get politicians into action!

  • Hey guys....PLEASE register at the Oprah Winfrey website and let her know how much you would like to see her do a show on Lyme disease. Dr. Oz thinks the "UNDER OUR SKIN" documentary is wonderful but a show about Lyme won't be done unless she sees lots of interest. Request that LLMDS and patients be the guests so that we can be heard. Also, Daryl Hall would make a great guest. WE ARE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER !

    God Bless,

  • I believe Representative Pallone is very aware of this issue considering one of his own family once had a case of lyme disease and I cannot believe some rude commentary under this video. Representative Pallone has done so much for this community. Still I commend you for fighting for what you believe in and I believe this is a very well done video.

  • Wrote an informative Lyme brochure with the help of 2 Lyme specialists...will email to anyone.

  • Let's get Frank Pallone out of office. What a joke of a person. Even if he passes this bill, I will fight every chance to get rid of this douche. He obviously has his hand out and its not to shake hands. Vote this guy OUT OUT OUT!!!

  • the lack of compassion in politics isn't surprising, but the lack of compassion in the medical industry is shocking

  • unfortunatly for us, it's politics as usual wall street > national health crisis dusty bill-there are thousands walking around with this disease and have no idea.I would be curious which doctors he mentioned who personally live near him about dangerous antibiotics killing people- Names please- NAMES- WHO!! Their the IDSA not any actual treating physicians- IS HE BEING PAID OFF.... it's they only thing that makes sense...Lies, lies and more lies. And the band continues to play on....

  • I sure hope he is seeing this video. Rep. Pallone, if you are seeing this, please schedule this bill. It is immoral to ignore thousands and thousands of people in favor of big pharma and big establishment money. I know you need to fund your re-election campaign and all, but give me a break - you are supposedly part of a representative government, right? The people's wishes are clear, Rep. Pallone, why aren't you listening?

  • Great video. It's so interesting to me that most people I speak with either know someone who has the disease or even have a family member with it. I think that sadly, what we are experience is the government mishandling a huge epidemic, just like they did with the early AIDS crisis 20 years ago. If they had acted sooner then, so many lives could have been spared. But for whatever reason, our government just does not act quickly or effectively enough on emerging diseases. And the band plays on...
