  • mikadit you are a genius

really kind to send the scene, it all works the same here on the mac??

cant understand what i did wrong but thanks ever so much for sharing this scene. not many would. a gentleman indeed.

  • glad that now it work. you are welcome

  • i think maybe mac is wrong because i am doing exacty as the tutorial does

problem is the ray lenth is not clean it is a gradient and is not producing a result that renders the whole shepre the outer edge fades off and with the invert and pow it clips the render

i think this is not possible to correct

    ??

very frustrating after such a great demo

  • Try the scene to test with (added the link in the video info)

  • Hi mikadit,

Very cool render... i try your tutorial with lightwave 9.0 but that does'nt work.

Is this possible to do with a smaller version that the lightwave 9.6?

  • superb demo understand but 2 problems with ray trace shadows on and the boolean sphere transparency set to 100 it produces no shadow on render sphere - why? normally no transparency = no shadow & ray length INVERT POW node setup same as yours produces a gradient clip - not hard edges and doesnt render the inner surface SEND EMAIL AND I WILL SHOW YOU i think you have set up something different to the usual scene setup i am on mac although this should not be same
