This is a review of the 1983 series of G.I. Joe toys in my collection. This part shows the smaller vehicles and accessories: Wolverine, HISS, FANG, Whirlwind Twin Battle gun, Skimobile Polar Battle Bear, SNAKE, Battle Gear, Pocket Patrol Pack, PAC/RATs (missile launcher, machine gun and flamethrower), APC and the JUMP with Grand Slam.

Dumb question since it pertains to the RAH TV series but I could have sworn I remembered a dual turret hiss tank. Not positive on it but it obviously had an extended cab with a front facing and rear facing turrets. I also thought that someone made a custom toy version like that but I'm probably just dreaming. Great video and thanks for so many great memories!!!

There was some "off-model" HISS tank animation, but I can't find an example of double turrets. The website JoeCustoms is a great place to see what others have customized.

one thing that kinda bums me out about the hiss tank is that it wasn't built to the same scale as the ones seen in the cartoon. it's a little smaller. And wasn't it a two seater upfront?

You're right, in both the cartoon and the comic the HISS tank is shown to be a much larger two-seater. I guess Hasbro wanted this to retail cheaper. The 1989 HISS II is closer to the original design (but not done in classic black).

I bought most of these already assembled with an empty box. Only a few vehicles are still untouched, and I have loose doubles of those.

The 2003 MCC was a Toys R Us exclusive, the colors were darker or different and came with a different driver figure. I'm just assuming that modern plastic would be less fragile than the older one.

I'm thinking about expanding my collection to include 1986 and 1987... but it will take a long time to build up the money for something as expensive as the Defiant. If I were to get the MCC, I would buy the 2003 version.

Nice collection!!!! I remember getting the Cobra HISS for Christmas in 1983. I was so dissapointed. It was always displayed much more impressivley in the Comic Books and later Cartoon as being much larger and more formidable. The toy version of the Hiss that came out in 1983 as well as other Cobra Command Vehilcles was so small and cheap compared to the GI Joe Vehicles. Thats why I loved the Cobra Rattler when it came out. Rattler was a Cobra toy that rivled anything GI Joe had at that time.
