This is another drum cover of a remix produced by Tim Hewitt. Its a metal remix of a Katy Perry song titled "Fireworks" (Firedjent). I really enjoy his work with these remixes. He does a really good job putting these together! And they are super catchy!!! He was kind enough to provide me with a mix of his track with the drums turned down a bit so I could mix my drums easier over top.

I am recording through my new preamps made by Prodigy Engineering. I recently also purchased Lynx converters. This is the first video I have made with the new drum sounds I am getting. I am still learning this new equipment and its sound. All drums are natural, I just sat down and tried to make a good mix for the tube!!!

I apologize if my big head gets in the way of the china again! I need to do something about some new camera positions soon!!!

Please check out Tim's Youtube Channel!

  • Epic man, truly epic! I've watched so many of your videos and I gotta say your a great drummer! I was wondering do you contact the artist of the song and get permission to use it in your videos? I was also wondering how you loop certain sections of songs to practice them? If you were in Colorado I would totally wanna shed with you/ take lessons from you!

  • @ERIKDADRUMMA Hey man! Thanks a lot for the kind words! I really appreciate it! I do normally contact the artist to make sure if its ok. I have done some covers where I don't do that, but I still try and make it very clear who the song is by. I use Pro Tools for my DAW, so when I line the song up to a click/grid, I can just select exact bars to loop... I usually take the time to make my own click, and also set markers for each part of the song! It really helps in the long run...

  • Dude, I know your popular and all that, but have you posted a list of the recording equipment you are using for all these videos? I get tidbits here and there, but say Im stupid @ recording and need a shopping list....

  • @diesel3181 hahaha! I have actually always had a pretty descriptive list of all of the gear I use in my set up (drums and recording) on my youtube channel page... Just look on the right side and click on "more" under the section with some brief information about me...

  • What kind of drugs are you selling to afford Prodigy and Lynx gear?

  • @TheRecluse26 haha, only the dankest of the dank...

  • great, crisp technique you've got there bro. But probably you know that already. I've watched couple of your vids (along with those one featuring drewsif) and I can tell you one thing - you keep up the good work and soon you'll be on the cover of some drummer magazine ;)
