Bull Barrel Ruger 10/22 Desert Rat

I can't help it. I have an obsession about modding Ruger 10/22s. Once you understand how accurate these rifles can be at ranges well over 200 yards its hard to just sit back and plink with a stock 10/22. This one packs the basics for long range accuracy. Volquartsen trigger pack, Mueller APT scope, Tapco stock lathed out to accept the Green Mountain Bull Barrel, Harris bipod, Tapco forgrip and two Ruger mags connected together. With proper ammo The Rattler will put 10 rounds into a 3 inch hole @ 225 yards.

@chios1958 I use CCI Mini Mags. They are very very accurate at 200 yards. I can hit a rabbit at that range with about 90% of the time the first round being lethal. I can do it further but it has be be optimum shooting enviroment. After that it compramises the integrity of the kill.

@GT03235 Your right given the choice I would always go Nuclear weapons over any other caliber. Most people don't know about the .22. Yes even "Gun Guys" and 22 shooters have no clue on what the bullet is really capable of. I didn't know either. Untill I started shooting rabbits at ranges over 250 yards with Venom using Velociters and producing one shot kills. So I did some research and found out really interesting things about this underated caliber. R u a thinker or a sheeple? You decide.

@MrJohnwilkerson Ya know your not the first one to tell me that and I have actually given it consideration. As far as selling them or building them I have built over 10 already for freinds and customers/clients. I would love to open a 10/22 shop. something small where you can buy every Ruger 10/22 part on the planet. Have it made in store per online order or you can just order the parts and pickup the rifle an parts and build it yourself. Once I build up some $ I may just do that. Take care..

@FMJHollowPoint At early time in Vietnam war, they were thinking using .22LR for this war but the Russian already used 7.62 rounds then American had no choive ! 5.56 is now and always UNDER GUN compare to AK/SKS

suck with the gun can not shoot FULL AUTO no more M-16 now only semi auto and 3 rounds burst..NO AUTOMATIC fire! I the battle with VC, US soldiers without air forve HELP then always and always UNDER GUN..UNDER POWER?? WHY WHY WHY?

If the barrel (original) not good then RUGER is no longer in business that long!! To me adding bull barrel is something waste money. for good example in Vietnam war M16A1 vs today M16A2, there is not so much different about how it fire (newer of course) M16A1 seem to be lighter and more robust, A1 and A2 fire sight!! I like A1 because that rear sight of A2 is very easy to "MOVE" if accidently you hit somethiing! and A1 rear sight is harder to move! + A2 come with heavy barrel? NEG

Is that BULL BARREL make the gun shoot farther than original 18.5 inches barrel?

What is the maximum accuracy of the Bull Barrel? original?

OK, with the kit from CMMG ($179.00 with 2 magazines) Is that OK to use A2 to shoot?? Is that kit use A2 barrel physicly rifling 1:9 from AR-15 or not??

- I knew .223 and .22 LR = there are .003 of an inche different but, I wasn't sure how the bullet borrow the barrel of AR-15 to come out ( I mean FIRE!)?? thank you again for Infos (educate me please!)

how much wieght did the bull barrel add? I found a stock I really like but it requires a bull barrel.  I enjoy the feel of the gun how it is, and can do decent with stock barrel and iron sights at 75 yards. That about as far as I can go where I shoot. Could you post a video of this shooting i would love to justify purchasing the barrel. Thanks! nice gun !

@ladyfeind yeah im a huge fan of his builds on the tapco platform. Hes one of many that have proved there are so many options for ruger 10/22's. I wouldn't be a ruger 10/22 owner if it werent for kenny.

i'm getting into my first 10/22 very soon and i have been looking around tactical solutions and others to either build my rifle for me or buy the parts from them and go at it myself.

this is all fine and good and i'm sure i'll end up with a sweet rifle when its all done but, goddam this guy has put together some bad ass 10/22s! both the rat and venom are awesome and both are my favorite 1022s i have seen to date. i would much rather have one of these than a tacsol.
