Sounds like I'm mashing dont it? I'm mostly trying to show off his moves and such. Sorry guys, no WRYYYYYYYYYY but you do get a steamroller. My video capture thingy wasnt working. Oh well, didnt get no sound anyway.
Finally, his tandem works perfectly. The only thing stopping him from being a perfectly playable character are a few graphical issues and a lack of ground basics (which can be partially averted by simply attacking in Stand mode).
Alright, I've tried him out a bit, the following to report (as if most of it wasn't obvious from this vid): although all of his supers bar Son QCF use playable Dio's sprites, they all work correctly. Specials are fine and although he only has one ground basic, it's pretty much exactly like regular Dio's B. Getting downed results in nothing, but winning a challenge round turns him into regular Dio. He also has a different end animation for his timestope, even though he can't start it properly.
It looks like boss Dio is a variation on the playable version, rather than the other way round. My initial suspicion was that the playable version of Dio was created *after* the boss version, as he only appeared as an unlockable character in the original JJV release, but evidently I'm wrong. I may check this out for myself, actually.
Isn't this Dio just Shadow Dio with new sprites, no Road Roller and an active Stand? Or is there more to it.

What happens when you get downed?
