Da. (1988) was adapted for the screen by Hugh Leonard from his Tony award winning Broadway play. Martin Sheen plays Charlie, who comes home to Ireland for his father`s funeral. On arrival, he is plagued with visions of the old man. Barnard Hughes gives a winning performance as the titular Da of the title and is well supported by Doreen Hepburn as his long suffering wife. The music score was supplied by Elmer Bernstein, who captures the tone and mood completely as is demonstrated here by the melancholic Main Title. ,
