EYE - "Mandate!" (with Prime Minister John Howard rapping ;-)

Video of the EYE song "Mandate!" Thought to be the first tune with Australian Prime Minister John Howard on guest vocals. Recorded just after the national election, which the Liberal (conservative) party really LOST with a minority vote (yet remained in power due to flaws in the electoral system) this was a big hit on student/community radio around Australia - all those years ago! The video was played on ABC TV's "Rage" and SBS TV's "Alchemy" programs.

Other possibly slightly of interest details:
The video was made by DigiHed Productions for free (gracias!) at a military installation video editing suite. The "band" footage was filmed on the lawns of Australia's Parliament House. EYE were soon asked to leave by security in squad cars or be arrested. Kind of fun if you were there perhaps. NOTE: The video accidentally has the unmastered (lower quality) audio of this song!

Hello :) We did not have official electoral "fraud" as such. It was due to flaws in our electoral system (too complex to explain here) that a government regained power with a minority of the vote. In other words, many more people (about 60%) voted against John Howard's party in 1998 than for his party - most of us wanted to get rid of them. But sadly, we ended up being stuck with him for another 9 years (due to a weak opposition party and the fear after S11). He is gone now, at last! :D
