Dan and Mary Medieval Costumes RHPS, Hollywood Theater, Pittsburgh, 10-31-92

It's been a Pittsburgh tradition (much to my chagrin) that, when Riff Raff and Magenta appear at the climax of RHPS, the Floor Show counterparts would make their entrance at the rear of the theater wearing some sort of matching outfits. It's was done as The Blues Brothers, Gene and Paul of KISS, Luke and Leia Death Star costumes and a ton of others. I never liked it much since I always thought the audience should see the show done properly and not a bunch of cheeky in jokes. Of course, over the years, I've been soundly proven wrong. The audiences loved this stuff as much as the cast loved doing it. Sometimes, I'm glad the cast never listened to me on these things...

So, here we have one of the most elaborate Riff and Magenta entrances. Dan and Mary decided to appear at the end in full Medieval Renaissance gear, complete with crossbow. I gotta admit, it's damn impressive. This was Halloween 1992. RHPS played after "Shock Treatment" (I was concerned that people would leave after "Rocky Horror" if "Shock Treatment" played second... I think I was right on that call for once.)
