I have riden my mtn bike out thru the entire Carrizo Gorge and all of the tunnels are open and clear as of Jan.of 2012. The railroad line and track are still good. However, several of the bridges are in poor shape due to the old wood used to construct them.
This survey was done by several members of the Pacific Southwest Railroad Museum. Arne, the gentleman who owned the vehicle, got the highrail gear from CZRY. He was the president fo the Museum Association Board before he passed away. They had permission from the railroad and shared their results with us as we were working on Tunnel 8 at this time.

2 questions. Are you guys Carrizo Gorge railway employees? And what exactly are you doing in the video?

Great video, especially given that it's not possible for the vast majority of the public to visit the remarkable engineering fears of this line.
