This is a sound clip of my Lambo Jalpa standing still. Here is a reference to the details about the car.

My first video, so I have no idea how this will turn out.

  • I think i hear a rod knock as well.

  • @madmax2069 I am glad you are not my mechanic.

This engine was designed before the concept of NVH was invented.

There are many noises, electric fans on intercooler, BOV venting when closing the TB, cam noise, but no rod knock. When the oil pan was off I inspected each of the con-rod bearings and they looked and felt good. There is a slight “knocking” from the cams chain drive … probably a bearing that soon needs attention.

  • I threw up at 0:29 when I saw the cheap ebay 'twinturbo' badge.

  • Maybe your lunch was cheaper than my badge.

  • looks like a Lotus turbo engine and sounds like one as well someone please correct me

  • About the only similarities between those two engines are the displacement (3.5L) and cylinder count (8).

  • Very underrated Lambo IMO. None of my friends have even heard of this.

  • @digiblu LOL the lotus 3.5 started life as grandmas Buick in the 60s...

  • @LamboJalpa That was just from me hearing your motor in the video. That alone is no way to judge anyone's mechanical skills. You obviously can easily be mistaken for other noises when you only have access to a video.

  • @LamboJalpa Transversely mounted, flat plane V8, 3,5 litre with turbos. They are very similiar indeed.

  • @madmax2069 LOL HAHA!!!

  • whats that screeching and grinding that i am hearing.

  • nice setup, very tidy and props to you for giving the jalpa the power it should have had from the factory.

  • That sounds like its got American muscle under the hood.
