George Rotariu: Dina, can you tell us why people should use your makeup services?
Dina Koop: Absolutely, its because I love to make people look the way that they want to look.
Whether is a bride, whether is a simple makeup or if someone just want to try out a new kind of
dramatic look when they are going out.. If you want something over the top for photoshoots or if
you want something really great for Halloween, any kind of special effects Im for you!
G.R.: Please, tell us how did makeup change your life?
D.K.: Its definitely made me more of a girly girl.. I never used to wear makeup or anything before
I kind of got involved in this and its really kind of made me aware of my own looks, other people
looks and just trends in general And now I have the knowledge to kind of help people and its
really really great.
G.R.: Did you finish any makeup school?
D.K.: I did. Right after high school I went to Blanche MacDonald for their full term course for
makeup.
G.R.: What is your specialization?
D.K.: I dont really have a specialization because I personally just love to do it all. I absolutely
love special effects. I love simple makeup. I like dramatic makeup. I like airbrush makeup. I love it
all. So I dont really specialize I like this really. Id never say NO to any project and, yeah, I do
it all.
G.R.: Why did you choose to become a makeup artist?
D.K.: I choose to be a makeup artist, actually its kind of funny in a way really, like I just wanted
to be in the entertainment industry and I just kind of picked it and I went to school for it and Ive
just fell in love. I fell in love with this industry.
G.R.: Did the makeup industry give you any special opportunities?
D.K.: It has. Ive met so many incredibly awesome people I get to work with different people
on a daily basis. I get to create art which is so important to me
G.R.: What do you think the makeup artists should avoid at the beginning of their career?
D.K.: Definitely, just sitting back and waiting for someone to come and you know ask you to do
things thats not the way it happens. You have to go out and you have to really put yourself out
there. The other thing would definitely be you got to be professional all the time, you have to
look apart and you have to play perfectly all the time. And the other thing would be DONT
BURN ANY BRIDGES! Because with this industry is so small, everybody knows everybody and
you never know. So just DONT BURN ANY BRIDGES!
G.R.: What is the biggest challenge to become a famous makeup artist in your opinion?
D.K.: Right now, because the industry is so saturated, you know everyone wants to be a makeup
artist. So thats definitely difficult cause everyone wants you, you know your potential and vice
versa and also the big job you get. thats a problem. And the biggest thing is NOT GIVING
UP. Thats the biggest challenge. If you just keep doing what you doing, youre passionate about
this industry I mean youll make it, absolutely.
G.R.: What is your biggest goal in life?
D.K.: My biggest makeup goal it turns to dream big..I tell you a little bit.. I wanna have kind of
my own company, I want like an empire, I kind want to dive into all different kids of deals for
makeup like I love to have my own makeup effects shop, I love to have my media makeup
modelling agency, maybe a salon, professional line of product because Ive always been interested
in making just for professional use so for makeup artists out there. And maybe even a school, a
makeup school down the line. You never know.
G.R.: Can you tell us 3 tips on how to get a flawless skin?
D.K.: Number one: Dont smoke;
Number two: To moisturize your skin every single day;
3rd one: Wear sunscreen every single day and your skin will thank you for it.
