Im pretty sure that this is when the course was set up for the 09 open....that's why it was 2 days wait.

these guys, while are hardcore, are also pretty stupid!! especially any idiots from new york. all you gotta do is fax nys license to the course, 48 hrs later you can call and make a tee time. just played 745 am this past tues. but i guess if you hate your wife/life you'd do the same!! fore!!!!

Waiting overnight to play Bethpage Black I understand and very reasonable...but 48 hours??? Insane..

When you sleep over and wait in line in the parking lot at Bethpage State Park like this video, you are not allowed to barbecue, have tents or mattresses set up outside the car. You are not allowed to have alcoholic beverages outside the car, and when you have to go to the bathroom you must use the Golf Cart Rental building. Do not go in the forest or behind the buildings! People have gotten arrested by the State Park Police for urinating on State Land and tickets for the other things!

haha man, me and my friend went down on a tuesday hopin to play Wed morning. we got there at 2pm walked in to ask how to go about doing the overnight wait and the guy said he had an opening for a 4:09 tee time tht day haha. so we hit a bucket at the range putted a little and played. It was a great time. And the best part was I hit my first drive 310 right down the pipe. Guess those pros dont have nothin on me ;). anyways i hope u had as much fun playig as I did. Peaceee

I understand the bracelet, but what's the point of the bakery tickets? Everybody in line knows who's ahead of and behind them, so wouldn't that determine the order of when starting times are sold?

I heard through most people who did the walk-up line that you only need to show up at about 400A to get in line. Two days before to play the Black? I'd just keep trying my luck at the telephone reservation.

great video!!! check out my video, i did 48 hours in the car as well. i played may 30, 2009, 2 days before the black was shut down for the US open. btw...does everyone hit it left on the first tee? seems like an easy fairway, but it was the hardest to hit in the US open i think.

Freaking Awesome! Assuming i can take my handicap to single digits by summers end, I'll be playing @ Bethpage in early '10.
