Ah, death the word we always push to the back of our minds. What is it about death that we fear so much? This episode talks about the purpose of life, the philosophy of death, and explores Sikhisms teachings of what happens after a person dies.

  • Ok, I can't grow a beard (it's a genetic thing). Can I still be a sikh? Really, it's a serious question I have. Thanks to anyone who will answer.

  • @gungnir2357 yes

  • Ok. But I would not be able to cut my hair (on my head). Is that correct?

  • @gungnir2357 for practising baptised Sikhs that's correct as hair is a gift of God which helps in spiritual life so the same way a lion would be incomplete without his mane so too would a spiritual person without hair. the Gurus and elevated spiritual teachers that began most faiths began had long hair.

  • Thank God we have more English speaking Sikhs talking about Sikhism in a format that I enjoy watching!

    Keep up the good work.

  • specops24th: You are just like every other muslim, well versed in the art of islamic rethoric, while having absolute superficial knowledge on eastern religion and metaphysics. Sikhism denounces the fruitless rituals espoused in religions like Islam that do nothing but subvert the natural evolution of the human soul. Weighing your concept of the afterlife against others is also a vain act upon which your lethal ignorance is further highlighted.

  • @gungnir2357 read guru granth sahib first..keeping hair or cutting them is second to the attachment with the truth(guru granth sahib(sikhs sacred text).ad it understand the meaning, nd see the purpose of our lives..cutting or keeping hair will come naturally to you...its(hair) not the first step..gurmat is first step

  • It is not nessecary 2 educate urself with history 2 learn or 2 become close to THE ONE.But, 2 liston 2 ur innerself where history is already in existance. I believe that life after death does exist. What, when, where, how, who No one but THE ONE knows. All I know to feel safe and not to be afraid. Is that We have these ``Feelings inside of us`` and that is enough! security, for me to Believe that what ever, when ever, how ever, death comes upon us there is THE ONE that I have UTMOST trust in.

  • thank you . i have sikh friends and it nice to know what there beliefs are .

  • Guys - thank you so much for this information. It has helped me alot and made me feel better, would like to hear more about this. Thanks

  • @gungnir2357

hair growth is genetic and it depends person to person. Hair plays many roles on body, alots of science behind them also.

  • i think its easy to get distracted, or to question why religeons are the way they are, but the simplest way to put it, is, just use common sense, be nice, respect for all, and be happy, be grateful for this very short human experience, dont complicate things too much. when we are babies, we know nothing of life, same as in our 80's or beyond! just do good deeds, remember god, and serve others! thats it!

  • Thanks...

  • @Inder12321 language is language.

  • you guys are great! Keep it up!
