There is a difference between sharing & spamming. In my humble opinion, simply uploading a video would be classified as sharing. And of course posting links through twitter, facebook, and any other social networking site.
A private message or email would definitely fall under the category of spam. Unless you're sending links to your Gramma or someone who maybe doesn't do the youtube thing.

If you don't give a shit about him, why do you spent 5 minutes talking about him and his videos? Seems kind of stupid to me.
And don't try to tell if somebody is working hard or not. You have no idea. If you subscribe to someone you should do this because you like the videos and you want to be informed about new videos. And that's what he does.
He just informs you very often, because he makes music videos very often. If you don't like this, then just unsubscribe, shut the hell off and be happy
