Hi there.. excellent song , gifted playing. Are you using Blue scales or the major G scale?

I start out with the G Major scale. and then
bounce back and fourth, from the Major scale
to the Blues scale.

The secret to getting smooth is to practice licks that will fit into any or most songs. and to learn chord positions. I had nobody to show me these things. It took me years to learn them on my own, should have taken months.
I'm thinking about putting 30 years of knowledge into a one or two hour instuctional DVD. For people wanting to play in the style of country or gospel it would take years off the learn curve.Hope that helps.

I'm working on makeing the DVD.
Its going to be in three parts.
1. Chord positions up and down the neck.
2. Picking gospel melodies by ear.
3. Hot licks, and mixing licks into melodies.
For someone wanting to play lead guitar in the style of country gospel it will be a one of a kind DVD.
I will show you where to play lead up and down the neck, and in any chord. Thanks for your comment.
