So adorable. You're like I am with my budgies. Did Chester accept the new baby? Looks like the baby's wings were clipped too. My office is in a corner of their room. I had one for 4 years before introducing him to a second. They were instant friends, the first stayed interactive with me, the second never took to me.
Yes, Chester was (if anything) a bit too in love with Lola. They fight occasionally, but they also regurgitate for each other and sit and preen each other. Chester has been so much happier since Lola arrived, and has become more friendly to me too. Now I'm just waiting for poor Lola to shed her clipped feathers and start to be able to fly.
I wish I knew. Chester's behavior is quite male, but his cere suggests he might be a female. We picked out Lola because her cere has white raised rings around the nostrils, so we're hoping she's female, but it's too soon to tell.
Oops, I think I accidentally deleted your last comment. Sorry.
Re: eggs... That's another of those things that shouldn't have been a surprise, given that they're birds, but... I'd never thought of that! If chickens can lay eggs without a rooster involved, I guess budgies can lay eggs too.

Hens can act like boys. I have had birds like this :) Regardless of what sex they are, they are sweet and precious .
Rocky is definately a boy and speaks his mind too :)

Yes, we love the birds whatever their genders... It'd still be nice to know, though. I guess we'll find out if we ever see eggs appear.
