Release Date: November 2, 2010 (NA & Latin America)

Gran Turismo 5 is to be the fifth edition of the highly acclaimed Gran Turismo racing video game series, scheduled for release in 2010. It is currently under development by Polyphony Digital and is to be published by Sony Computer Entertainment for the PlayStation 3. It expands on the Prologue version and will be the first of the main numbered series to feature on the PlayStation 3.

For the first time in the main series, an online mode will be available in the game, with 16 player capability. Both mechanical and external damage have been confirmed, along with interior damage for 170 "special" cars. Night racing will make a reappearance for GT5, with every course having the option for night racing. Weather effects are also confirmed to be included, although the extent of the implementation is currently unknown.

World Rally Championship, NASCAR, and Super GT licenses will be featured for the first time in the Gran Turismo franchise

  • How do you do night races? Is it random, or can you choose?

  • @LamborghiniKid because its an awesome comment that's why. Il agree the damage isn't that good, But it does have mechanical damage, Anyway only rubbish people crash XD.

  • @mgoandy33 why is this comment still #1 after 8 months, and btw the damage is GARBAGE on GT5

  • worst drive ever

  • @BleachAntagonist Lol it's quite sad, the lengths you PS3 fanboys will go to to prove a point. You can't just say something is shit when in reality, you probably haven't played it. I don't think you can really compare them anyway, given the 1 year gap in release dates and development time. 2 and a half year for Forza 3, 6 years for GT5. Forza 4 is coming out late next year to give you something else to cry about =]

  • can i drift in this badass motherfucker

  • @BleachAntagonist lol nothing you said proves anything. Absolutely no valid argument points against mine; I'm not listening to you.

  • @LifeLongRacer Listen lifelongRaper, Forza is shit! Period, enough said. Sure Forza is cool because of the realistic car damages and customization, but GT have improve itself over the years. And I know this has nothing to do with anything but I want to rubber this on you're Xboxfanboy ass, Nissan consulted the developers of Polyphony Digital to help them design the 2007 Nissan GTR sports car. Hows that for picking best simulation race game ever.

  • You know, I'd wish they'd make the camera flow freely rather than follow the car's back end all the damn time. Doing it this way would make the driving feel more realistic. That's probably why you always see gameplay video's of the inside view.

  • @bobsagotjr Forza 3 is very realistic, considering I said "Physics" I meant that it is more realistic. Ok, you got graphics. Forza has awesome graphics too; maybe not better the GT5, but when you look at all the other things Forza is better at, graphics don't really matter. Community!? LOL. Xbox games in general have a better community than Ps3's. I'm not trying to doug out the PS3, I love the PS3. But Forza is always releasing new cars, updating their favorite pics, tune setups, designs.
