Shady Grove 2

I try to make this as a frailing guitar piece, inspired by Mason Brown, who you can find here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7QdtY-fiMZU This is the second time I put it up and I have deleted the older one. I believe I do it somewhat better this time. Instead of tuning the guitar DADGAD I have put on a regular capo on the second fret and a partial capo covering three strings on the fourth. Same as DADGAD but in another key.

Wow!! I am awed by your picking! I've been looking for something like this for a long time; I come from a blues/electric/rock background, but I've been playing some acoustic folk with a band as of late, and I've been looking for a way of picking that makes the melody notes I'm plucking stand out more from the rest of the chord.

Clearly that's what you've been able to do here.  Awesome job, I love the hammer-ons and rolls. ;-) excuse me if I steal your picking style.

@FranMan1187 I'm glad you like it. And you are welcome to "steal" it. I don't own it you know. Music is for sharing as far as I'm concerned.

What I do here is basically picking the bass- and melody notes with a thumb pick and making the downstrokes/strums with the index finger. A style I use for the banjo as well. I have other versions of Shady grove here, also with song.

And a couple of versions of Pretty Polly, where I play in the same style.
